About the Wharton Global Alumni Forum

Wharton runs three Global Alumni Forums annually as a service to the school’s alumni.  The purposes of the forums are:

  • To provide opportunities for the alumni to network for personal and professional reasons and to encourage the local alumni clubs;
  • To strengthen the bonds between the school and the alumni;
  • To promote the school in an important center for global business;
  • To give global thought leaders a forum to discuss important ideas; and
  • To give Wharton faculty and staff a chance to learn about important economies outside the United States.

The Forums began in 1993 and have been held thirteen times in Asia; ten times in Europe, Africa and the Middle East; and eight times in Latin America.  Participation has ranged from 210 to 865 alumni, depending on the city.  In recognition of the growing importance of Perú in the global business community, Wharton will hold a Global Alumni Forum in Lima on March 12-14, 2008.  Alumni from all over the world are expected to attend and learn about business opportunities in Perú.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania — founded in 1881 as the first collegiate business school — is recognized globally for intellectual leadership and ongoing innovation across every major discipline of business education. The most comprehensive source of business knowledge in the world, Wharton bridges research and practice through its broad engagement with the global business community. The School has more than 4,600 undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, and doctoral students; more than 8,000 annual participants in executive education programs; and an alumni network of more than 81,000 graduates.
