Welcome from the Chairman

Raimundo MoralesDear Wharton Alumni and Friends

I am pleased to invite you to attend the first-ever Wharton Global Alumni Forum to be held in Lima, Perú on March 12-14, 2008.

The theme for the Forum is “New Directions for Latin America”.  We will further subdivide the Forum into two tracks.  One track will focus on the globalization of Latin American business.  The second track will focus on the economics of inclusion and the alleviation of poverty.  The noted author Mario Vargas Llosa will deliver the Keynote Speech that we believe will build a unique bridge between these two tracks.

The Forum will include Panel Discussions and plenty of time for networking.  We will also continue the successful practice of last year’s Forum, and schedule Master Classes taught by some of Wharton’s finest professors.  We anticipate that Wharton alumni from all over the world will attend this Forum, and I know you will have many opportunities both to renew and initiate new personal and professional relationships.

All the Forum meetings will take place in the JW Marriott Hotel in Lima.  The Gala Banquet on Thursday evening will take place at the Casa Goyeneche, and will be an experience not to be missed.  Elsewhere on this website you can learn about post-Forum tourism that is being arranged in Machu Picchu.  All Wharton Global Alumni forums are family-friendly; bring your family and enjoy traditional Perúvian hospitality!

All the members of the Organizing Committee look forward to welcoming you to Lima.  I hope that you can join us on March 12-14 and we look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Raimundo Morales WG’70
